Scholarships in Australia for international Students 2011/2012

The Australian Government and Australian Universities offer a variety ofscholarships in Australia forinternational students, who want to study abroad in Australia. These internationalscholarships are either for undergraduate or postgraduate students or both. On this page, I have compiled a list of scholarshipsin Australia for African/ international students. Take your time to go through the programs to find the ones you are eligible to apply. Also note that while some of these scholarship applications are still open, some deadlines may have passed. But don’t worry; most of thescholarships are awarded annually. Take note of the time of the year applications open, and check back. Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) for African Students 2011/2012
The Australia Awards for Africa is an initiative of the Australian Government aimed to maximize the benefit of the Australian Government's extensive scholarship programs, and to support enduring ties between Australia and neighboring African Countries. Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) are available for full-time Postgraduate Diploma or Master Degree studies at Australian universities.
You are eligible for an Australian Development Scholarship (ADS) if you are a citizen of one of the participating African countries, resident in your home country and meet any relevant country specific criteria.

Hotel Management Undergraduate Scholarships for International Students 2011-2012
The International College of Hotel Management (ICHM) offers:
Two Round 1 International Scholarships for the July 2011 or January 2012 intakes.
Two Round 2 Scholarships for the January 2012 or July 2012 intakes.
International Students who meet the scholarship eligibility criteria and ICHM entry requirements can apply for a scholarship
Application Deadline:
For Round 1: July 2011 or January 2012 intake - Friday April 1st 2011
For Round 2: January 2012 or July 2012 intake - Friday September 2nd 2011


ICE WaRM Masters Scholarship in Water Resources Management for International Students
The International Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management (ICE WaRM) offers a scholarship programme to attract high quality international students to education and training in water resources management.
ICE WaRM offers two rounds of scholarships annually, in February and July. Applicants are able to begin applying for current or future rounds at any time.
Semester 1 (February 2012) - Deadline 26th August 2011
Semester 2 (July 2012) -Deadline 24th February 2012.(awarded annually)

2011 Scholarships for International Students at Macquarie University, Australia
Macquarie University International Scholarships are available across most courses to cover international tuition fees for study on campus at North Ryde in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree.
The scholarship provides course fees for the minimum course duration.
Applicants must: Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.

2011 Undergraduate Scholarships at University of Adelaide
Adelaide Outstanding Achiever Scholarships International (AOASI) are available to 10 international students who are citizens of Indonesia, Korea, Thailand or Vietnam undertaking study in any academic discipline, except Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
Benefits are the waiver of full tuition fees for the normal duration of the program, subject to satisfactory performance.
Deadline is Applications is 31 October 2011

Australia- 2011 International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS)
The University of Adelaide offers The International Postgraduate Research Scholarships for the 2011 academic year to high performing overseas postgraduate students in Australia. The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) scheme is funded by the Commonwealth Government through the Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
Approximately 15 scholarships may be available in 2011 forinternational students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in areas of the University research strengths.
Deadline:
31st August, 2011


Australia- Hotel and Resort Management International Scholarships 2011
The Government of Australia offers scholarships to international students to study Hotel and Resort Management in Australia for 2011 academic year.
To be eligible for the scholarship applicants must:
*not be a citizen of Australia or New Zealand or a permanent resident of Australia;
*satisfy Australian Government Visa requirements for international student entry to Australia;
*not hold a current Australian Government Scholarship;

Western Australian Department of Education Undergraduate Scholarships
The Western Australian Department of Education (DoE) offers a number of scholarships for international students. Some of thesescholarships provide the full tuition fee for either the WAUFP or the WACE Program. In addition, the DoE also offers a number of partialscholarships for international students to undertake the WAUFP or WACE Program at Tuart College.


15 Adelaide Fee Scholarships for International Students
The Adelaide Fee Scholarship International (AFSI) offers Up to 15 available scholarships in 2011 to outstanding international studentsfrom any country undertaking postgraduate research in any academic discipline at the University of Adelaide.

Adelaide Postgraduate Scholarships- University of Adelaide- Australia
The University of Adelaide offers scholarships scheme for international students undertaking postgraduate coursework (Not Research) study. The selection for these scholarships is extremely competitive. Up to six scholarships may be available to outstanding international studentsfrom any country to undertake a postgraduate degree by coursework in any academic discipline.
Applications for students commencing their primary academic program in Semester 2 2010


Australia- Undergraduate Scholarships-University of Adelaide
The University of Adelaide offers a scholarships scheme forinternational students undertaking undergraduate study. Up to nine Adelaide Outstanding Achiever Scholarships International (AOASI) are available to international students from any country undertaking study in any academic discipline except Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)

PhD/Master Research Scholarships 2010/11 for International Students-Edith Cowan University
The Graduate Research School of Edith Cowan University Western Australia offers PhD and Master Research Scholarships for the 2010/11 session to International Students at University.
The EIPRS scheme is prestigious and highly competitive. In 2009 three EIPRS scholarships and four ECU-IPRS were offered for tenure at Edith Cowan University.

IWC Water Leader Scholarships 2011-Australia.
The IWC Water Leader Scholarships offer full and partial tuitionscholarships for Australian citizens, permanent residents and international applicants for the Master's in Integrated Water Management program.
Water Leader Scholarships 2011 will be open from 1May - 1 August 2011.
Please note that applications will not be accepted before May 1, 2011.
Deadline: likely August 2011


International Undergraduate Scholarships at University of Queensland (UQ)
UQ International offers a limited number of scholarship opportunities for outstanding international students intending to study in anundergraduate program at The University of Queensland (UQ).
To be eligible for a UQ International scholarship, you must be a newly commencing international student and able to study in Australia on astudent visa.
Application DEADLINE
31 October the prior year for a Semester 1 commencement
30 April the same year for a Semester 2 commencement

Oslo Peace Scholarship -Master of International Affairs
The Graduate Studies in International Affairs (GSIA) program in the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific, in partnership with the International Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO) and Bjørknes College, offers one scholarship each year for full-time study in the Master of International Affairs specializing in Peace and Conflict Studies degree program. Tuition fees will be covered by The AustralianNational University and Bjørknes College; and students will receive some funding towards living costs as a stipend.

International Doctoral Research Scholarships New Zealand
New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS) are open to all international students who meet the eligibility criteria.
NZIDRS scholarships include:
Full tuition fees for three years of full-time doctoral study, living allowance, health insurance allowance, travel allowance, book and thesis allowance.
You need to show evidence that academic supervision is available when you apply for this scholarship.
Deadline
The NZIDRS applications closer on the 15th of July each year. Applications will be accepted from early May until 5pm (NZ time) on Thursday the 15th of July 2011.

Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship in ICT- University of Technology Sydney
The University of Technology Sydney offers students the opportunity to obtain an engineering undergraduate qualification at the University through the Undergraduate International Engineering Scholarship in Information Communication Technology (ICT). The scholarship is also open to diploma holders.
The scholarship covers 50% of the tuition fees commencing from the first semester of study for a period of four years. The closing date for this scholarship Application for Spring Semester (July start) will be in June Annually; for Autumn (February start) will be in December..


International Students Scholarship- University of Sydney
The University of Sydney, Australia, invites candidates who are eligible to undertake a Postgraduate Research or Master's by Research degree program in any course of study at the University to apply for the University of Sydney International Research Scholarship (USydIS).
International students from any country wishing to pursue a postgraduate research program at the University are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
The scholarships will be awarded to eligible applicants twice a year - in October/November in conjunction with the International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) for commencement in Semester 1(March), and in early April for commencement in Semester 2 (July).
Applications for admission to a research degree MUST be received by the International Office by 31 July, DEADLINE of the previous year.

UN-Nippon Fellowship Programme in Ocean Affairs for Coastal Developing Countries
The main objective of the fellowship is to provide opportunities for advanced education and training in the field of ocean affairs and the law of the sea, and related disciplines including marine science, to Government officials and other mid-level professionals from developing coastal States, so that they may obtain the necessary knowledge to assist their countries to formulate comprehensive ocean policy and to implement the legal regime set out in UNCLOS and related instruments.
Government officials and other mid-level professionals from developing coastal countries are eligible for the scholarship. Previous fellows were from South America (Columbia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, etc.) ; Africa (Ghana, Cameroon, Mozambique, Tanzania, etc.); South Asia (Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, etc.); and Southeast Asia and Pacific (Philippines, Indonesia, Solomon Islands, etc.), but are not limited to these countries. Complete applications must be received by DOALOS not later than August, -annually.
